Isabel Cacho Lascorz is Associate Professor at the University of Barcelona. Isabel has recently been awarded the ICREA Academia in recognition of her contribution to the advancement of climate science research. She is member of national and international research committees CLIVAR (Climate Variability), SOLAS (Surface Ocean Lower Atmosphere Study) and INQUA (International Union for Quaternary Research).

Isabel is specialised in the reconstruction of past climatic variability based on the analysis of marine sediments and cave speleothems. The core of her research has focused on rapid climatic variability in the Mediterranean region, but she has also worked in the Equatorial Pacific and regions of the Atlantic Ocean.
