Lewis Research Group
The Lewis Group is developing solar fuels technologies, discovering new semiconductors and catalysts, controlling the growth and surfaces of semiconductors, integrating components into working photoelectrochemical cells, and developing inexpensive low-power vapor sensors. The research group falls under the division of chemistry and chemical engineering at Caltech.
Prof. Nathan S. Lewis has been active in the solar fuels/solar chemical field for over 40 years, and has published over 500 papers. In 1988, Prof. Lewis returned to Caltech where he is currently the George L. Argyros Professor of Chemistry.
