Virtual conference on climate, culture and peace

Aimed at exploring the interconnections between culture, climate change, peace and disaster resilience, ICCROM's flagship programme First Aid and Resilience for Cultural Heritage in Times of Crisis (FAR) will be hosting a virtual conference from January 24 to 28, 2022. The conference will also include a knowledge portal with a focus on heritage places and institutions, which are threatened by climate-related disasters and/or conflicts driven by environmental stresses. It will bring together diverse knowledge holders, policy advisors, practitioners, as well as community and youth leaders. Three broad themes of the conference will broaden the understanding of the role of culture in mitigating and adapting to the risks posed by climate change.

This initiative is supported by the British Council’s Cultural Protection Fund (CPF) in partnership with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and is inviting proposals for contributions until December 22, 2021.
