The Turning Point: A Deloitte Report

The Deloitte Economics Institute Turning Point series modeled two scenarios, from today to 2070, to compare the choices of global action and global inaction. Scenario 'A,' allows global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to rise, and the planet continues to warm . Scenario 'B,' decarbonizes the economy by mid-century. The institute modeled regional-level data from 15 geographies across Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas to estimate how much it would cost the global economy if the global average temperature is not prevented from rising by 3 degrees Celsius by the end of the century. The analysis of these two scenarios demonstrates how climate impacts economic output (GDP), employment, and industry.
